So – click on the link below to see the local news story my friend at WCCO wrote after I suggested she do a little write-up on Etsy and  the local MN Etsy street team!

Can you believe that sales on Etsy have tripled in the last year?!  exciting!

Etsy in the Minneapolis news

So, I am excited to say that a friend of mine from one of our local news stations, WCCO,  is running a little story on Etsy tonight at 10pm!  I believe they are including Etsy as a whole and also tidbits from our local MN Etsy street team artists!  After the story runs, I will post the video.

If you are in the Mpls/St Paul area this weekend – plan on checking out the Living Green Expo at the MN State Fairgrounds on Sat & Sun from 10-5pm.  There’s all kinds of fun stuff to look at from cars, building supplies & food,  to cosmetics and toys.  There are usually some fun activities for kids too!  Enjoy.

Here are a few new things you’ll soon see in my Etsy shop .  Hopefully they will all be there by the end of the week.  These new items are fun and brightly colored for Spring/Summer!

I am in a little quandry about what to do next to grow my Etsy business beyond Etsy – or more importantly, how much can I realistically do.  I’ve always been one that wants to jump ahead and do it all NOW, NOW, NOW!!  So I’m taking a deep breath and really trying to step back and be cautious.  I met with two friends yesterday, both women have their own businesses, one is working on the craftier side.  We brainstormed and came up with some really fantastic ideas of boutiques to approach with my products, craft fairs, even a few retail venues that might appreciate or have a space for some of my wares.   Also, we talked about better ways to market items and merchandise them with fixtures, etc…  And as we were talking I was having the realization that I gotta get my rear in gear! !  Holy crap.    So I came home all excited and anxious to start moving forward with these new ideas and it hit me plain straight in the head… I still have young children at home (one in diapers) and one in half-day kinder.  I seriously don’t have the time to ramp up my inventory – I maybe get 2-3 hours max. (on a good day) to actually create my sewn goods.   I need to find a better balance and not let the business get out of control. So finally just letting a lot of that excited and anxiety provoking stress roll off my back was a good thing.    There are so many things to think about with a new small business – it’s very overwhelming BUT exciting.
Mama … I’m … drowning…
  okay… breathe….
 But… I’m happy.  🙂

I say that because I named my Etsy shop “Luna Feliz” meaning “Happy Moon” in spanish.  If you could see me now, I am doing a happy dance – for I’ve just sold my very first Chinese take-out box from my Etsy shop!  This is my second sale (first was a tote).   So – I just had to share the joy!  Here’s a photo of the one that sold – sorry shoppers. So – it’s been over one month now since I opened my Etsy shop.  I know, I know, I shouldn’t be worried, but I’ve only sold one thing – a tote.  I made all these adorable Chinese take outs and … nothing.    So – I’ve been working and wracking my brain on ways to get the word out.   Having a case of the “blahs” lately.  Guess I’m just really, really ready for spring to officially arrive!

Wow, i’m pretty pumped.  Gecko Jewelry featured me in their Etsy treasury of favorite items.   Thanks so much Gecko Jewelry! Here is a link to the said treasury – Gecko Jewelry Etsy Treasury . Check it out!

The ad for my little Etsy shop is finished and already set!  Yay! Check it out here at Little Wedding Guide  I’ve added a customizing option for customers that might want to use a special fabric/ribbons for take-outs.
